For the little story, the hobootleg Travel Bike was designed by Cinelli especially on the occasion of the Tour d'Afrique, a mythical four-month event that runs from North to South Africa. The demanding route uses asphalt or off-road roads to reach Cape Town. Thus, to complete this course, you had to have a hyper-fiable and resistant bike.

Cinelli built a steel bike (tubes) in its premises Columbus) combining comfort and strength with a weight not too high. That's how the Hobootleg was born.

Finally, Cinelli has been clever... to help you in case of a breakage of a radius, two spare spokes are fixed on the back bases of the bike.
