Video presentation, in English, of the tracker / alarm Knog Scout:
How to use the bike alarm Knog Scout:
The Knog Scout attaches itself with the help of thebidon screws present on most bikes on the market.
The installation is therefore extremely simple and almost universal.
It recharges via a USB-C port and has two LEDs. The first indicates whether the system is in operation and the second indicates the battery level.
You can then activate it directly by pressing the button on the device slice or via your App.

In concrete terms, how does it work?
GPS or not GPS?
When you talk about trackers, you often think about GPS. But this is not always the case. Most connect to Bluetooth or NFC and only work with a smartphone.
Let's take Apple's AirTag. No GPS chip here! He uses nearby iPhones to transmit his position. The "Location" app will send you a notification and its last position if it loses contact with the AirTag.
For real-time tracking, you need a tracker with a GSM chip (telephone network) and a GPS chip. It's more expensive and requires a subscription.
KNOG SCOUT system
The KNOG SCOUT is similar to the AirTag, but with some advantages for cyclists.
Unlike the AirTag, the SCOUT is designed for bicycles and attaches directly to the frame with specific screws. You can even install a pad holder over it. It communicates via Bluetooth with iPhones, monitors your bike and sends alerts in case of suspicious movement.
Start & Connection
To start, download the KNOG app and reload the SCOUT. Once loaded (indicated by a green LED), just press the left button to turn it on and connect it to your iPhone. Create an account on the KNOG app and connect the SCOUT. The procedure is simple and quick.
Location with iPhone
As with the AirTag, you can locate the SCOUT with the "Location" app, provided you have paired it before.
Installation on the bike
Fixing the SCOUT is easy with the screws and key provided. For installation with abidon holder, use the spacers provided. The yellow hull can make SCOUT less discreet but will deter thieves.
Arm & disarm
To monitor your bike, press the SCOUT button or use the app. In case of movement, the SCOUT will emit a loud noise and send a notification to your phone. The LEDs will also flash to attract attention.
Safety precautions
- The SCOUT communicates with Apple's "Location" system, but it can trigger an alert if an iPhone stays close too long
- Always use anti-theft in addition to SCOUT
- Bluetooth range is limited, so tracking is optimal at short distance. In case of flight, you will receive a notification as soon as the SCOUT connects to an iPhone
