The bikes long-John cargo ships are the first cargo bikes in history.
Invented at the beginning of the twentieth century by the company Smith & Co in Denmark, more precisely in the city of Odense, these bikes have revolutionized the way we get around the city.
Hagen, formerly KP Cyclery, was founded in 2014 by Kaspar Peek in Odense, Denmark.
In 2017, to cope with the influx of orders Kaspar moved to its Estonia native and, after having recruited some hand-picked welders and mechanics, the adventure Hagen Bikes was able to start at full speed
Taking up the main points of the original design, the cargo bike Hagen Bikes Flagship Cargo brings a good dose of dynamism and of modernity
THE strong points of a long-John type cargo bike are:
Charge positioned as close to the ground as possible for a center of gravity as low as possible
No wider than a conventional bike: Ideal for slipping through
Can easily accommodate 2 children and shopping
Agile and lively: We find the dynamism of a classic bike
THE Hagen Bikes Flagship Cargo, a Cargo that favours short circuits:
Extremely rare in the current cycle industry, all production, including welding of the frame is in the European Union, in Estonia more specifically.
Hagen Bikes chose to use the'steel where many competitors use aluminum.
Enriched with chrome and molybdenum, the 4130 Chromoly steel used for the rear frame subframe allows for a combination of a fantastic resistance, A measured weight, a nervous driving and one comfort that aluminum cannot offer.
The use of square section tubes for the cargo part offers a structural rigidity and one incomparable resilience.

With a very low weight of only 26.5 kg, the Hagen Bikes Flagship Cargo mania at your fingertipss as a traditional bike.
It will allow you to move effortlessly whatever the load you are carrying.
You can opt for a external derailleur Shimano Acera 9 proven and robust speeds from the Japanese giant's mountain bike catalog or for a system of integrated speed hub of the same brand.
With the speeds integrated into the rear wheel hub, the gear changes will be made with a lot of flexibility and noise-free. The speeds can be switched off.
Then, in the case of a transmission of type integrated hub gears, you can choose between a transmission by chain or belt Gates Carbon Drive.
THE benefits of the belt are :
- Silent operation
- Plubricating or maintenance equipment
- No dirt
In both cases, no concern about possible derailments : The change of speed takes place through a hub with integrated speed, the chain or belt will remain in place on its pinion.
