Choosing and accessorizing your urban cargo bike KP Cyclery

KP Cyclery was founded in 2014 by Kaspar Peek in Odense, Denmark.

Kaspar, a passionate and demanding cyclist, has always wanted to make his dreams of urban bikes come true.

KP Cyclery's first project was a minimalist city bike. Powered by a successful Kickstarter campaign, the Perfect Urban Bike has found its audience across Europe.

The following year Kaspar developed particularly elegant and high-quality wall mounts for bicycles which, again, were torn off after a new Kickstarter campaign.

A few years later, a new concept saw its realization made of steel and aluminum: The sidecar for bicycles was born.

Finally, after studying the market in Copenhagen, KP Cyclery decided to launch headlong into the manufacture of cargo bikes.

In 2017, to cope with the influx of orders, Kaspar moved to his native Estonia and, after recruiting a few hand-picked welders and mechanics, the Nighthawk Cargo adventure was able to kick off into full gear.

I- The KP Cyclery Cargo range

The range of cargo bikes is made up of three models:

• The KP Cyclery Nighthawk Cargo Bike : The standard model available with a 40 x 68 cm cargo bed
• The KP Cyclery Mini Nighthawk cargo bike : The classic but shorter model with a 40 x 44.5 cm deck
• The KP Cyclery Nighthawk e-Cargo electric cargo bike : Identical to the classic Nighthawk, it is distinguished by a Shimano STEPS engine

II- Choose your transmission

The KP Cyclery Nighthawk and mini Nighthawk cargo bikes are available with two types of transmission:

• Shimano Acera 9-speed derailleur: This is the most affordable solution. Proven and reliable, it offers a wide range of developments.
• Shimano Alfine 8 internal gear hub: Here, all the gears are housed in the rear wheel hub. Virtually maintenance-free and sheltered from the elements, this solution also allows you to change gears when stationary.

III- KP Cyclery accessories for cargo bikes

To secure your load and prevent it from slipping away from you, KP Cyclery offers side panels . Made of aluminum alloy, they are very rigid while remaining particularly light.

If you want maximum loading volume, you can opt for the Wide-Box . This aluminum box with a capacity of more than 130 liters will allow you to transport a lot of stuff, including children.

And for the little ones, KP Cyclery offers an adaptable chair . Super light and equipped with a 5-point belt, it will allow you to carry your pitchounes in complete safety.

By default the Nighthawk Cargo can accommodate one seat. If you want to put two, you will have to install them in the wide box.

Finally, to protect happy passengers, a specific windscreen is available.
