Mavic road range 2021

After a particularly eventful 2020, Mavic returns in 2021 with the firm intention of once again becoming a key player in the global cycling landscape.
To achieve this, Mavic has made a clean sweep of part of its recent past and relies on 3 axes to reinvent itself:
A simplification of the range
Production relocated to Europe
Lifetime warranty for carbon wheels
Presentation of the range
For 2021, two denominations well known to enthusiasts remain:
- Ksyrium for aluminum wheels
- Cosmic for carbon wheels
Then, a suffix specifies the degree of technicality
- S for the most affordable models
- SL for lighter and more technical models
- SLR for the very high end
- Ultimate for ultra high-end uncompromising models
Finally, some of these wheels are available with different profile heights. We will find the following profiles:
- 32 mm (only for disc brakes)
- 40 mm (only for brake pads)
- 45 mm (only for disc brakes)
- 65 mm (only for disc brakes)
1. Mavic Ksyrium 2021 aluminum wheels
Highly affordable but featuring key technologies from its more expensive carbon siblings, the 2011 Mavic Ksyrium road bike wheels are not cheap wheels.
The rim is made of Maxtal and the Fore drilling offers the possibility of mounting the tire without a rim tape. The spokes are flat and light and the hub benefits from QRM technology which allows automatic preload adjustment and the ID360 freewheel body. They are also of course Tubeless compatible.
The Mavic Ksyrium S 2021 are available in skid and disc brake versions.
The Mavic Ksyrium SL 2021 wheels are a little lighter still due to the ISM4D machining. The spokes are also elliptical for improved aerodynamics.
The pair in skate version weighs only 1480 grams. They are also available in disc version .
2. Mavic Cosmic 2021 carbon wheels
Mythical because of its unequaled mechanical properties, carbon still turns heads and makes enthusiasts dream.
For 2021, the Mavic Cosmic wheels for pad braking are only available in one rim height of 40mm and two trim levels: SL and SLR
For the disc range, on the other hand, there are three rim profiles (32 mm, 45 mm and 60 mm) and the same levels of finish.
The Mavic Cosmic SL have traditional drilling and flat spokes. The Mavic Cosmic SLRs benefit from Fore drilling technology and elliptical spokes.

- -50% if the wheels are less than 2 years old
- -40% if the wheels are between 2 and 5 years old
- -30% if the wheels are between 6 and 10 years old
