German brand Kalkhoff and the bike is a big and long story since everything was born in 1919. At the time Heinrich Kalkhoff was only 16 years old and was a postman in the city of Cloppenhburg. Infuriated his repeated punctures that made him finish late, he decided to start trading tyres and other bicycle components.
In 1923, Kalkhoff started with two employees in the production of bicycle frames. In the meantime, he has expanded the business into the family home with offices and other production sites.
100 years later, Henrich is no longer in this world, and the company now belongs to Derby Cycle, one of the largest producer of German cycles. The production of bicycles is still done in Kalkhoff factories, now equipped with the latest technology but the belief remains the same.
